I picked up a variable DC power supply off of ebay. From the pictures, it had a standard US plug. When I received it, I plugged it in and tested it's accuracy with a meter (Fluke 87). The voltage on the power supply was about -3 volts off and constantly fluctuating between .3V and .8V. After looking at the back label, I realized that the power supply requires 220V @ 50Hz and here in the US AC power in homes are 110 @ 60Hz. My question is, will a step up transformer fix my fluctuation issue? P.S. Seller listed the DC power supply as used and pulled from a working environment. No mention of selling as-is. I knew the power supply was rated for 220V and figured the transformer would have a 110V tap because of the type of AC plug it used, but when I opened it and found the spec sheet which mentioned that it only operates at 220V. As to why I picked this model is because I need to use the programming capabilities. That, and the fact that it is a dual supply and can be programmed. I figured a transformer would do the trick, but I just wanted suggestions as well. Thanks again.
