Unlike the PS3 fat version, why does the PS3 SLIM NOT have a physical power switch like the old ones? Is leaving it on standby all the time safe? I use my PS3 SLIM very often, but was just wondering why it doesn't have a switch in the back like the old ones..
And got the following answer:
Because its unnecessary. The PS3 Slim was designed mainly to reduce PS3 production costs and the Main Power Switch was a feature that was not necessary for PS3 use. All A/V devices in the world make use of Standby (A/V receivers, component players of all types including CD, DVD, & Blu-Ray). If Standby really wasn't safe, it would not be built into the device, would it?
