It says to use 1 amp fuse. How would it be wired ? I asoom after switch. 12V battery. 16 foot aluminium boat. Also would like to wire the stern light. It looks easy enough but not completely sure on everything. Thank you
And got the following answer:
Never ever never use any part of your boat as an earth. All wiring must be two wires - one positive and an earth return. The battery should have two wires brought up to the switch assembly - normally at the steering station - one positive and one negative. This should be fused on the positive at a rating just over the normal maximum draw for total system load i.e. everything switched on. The nav lights need 5 amp rating wire - one neg and one fused positive from the switch block. All joints should be soldered and glue lined heat shrink tubing should be used to seal all wiring. Any bilge pump must run independent of any master switch and all other circuits - it should also be fused as per the recommendation of the pump supplier. easyacdc.com have some good basic instruction and have some excellent ready made looms and switch gear.
