first off, don't use standard BJT's in a power supply. They suffer from thermal runaway. If the current draw on one leg is higher than the other, the gain on the BJT, due to heating, will go up giving you more current on one side of the bridge than the other. Eventually the BJT will destroy itself. Best to use Mosfets. The reason being is that Mosfets have a positive temperature coefficient of resistivity ie: if one leg is drawing more current than the other, the Mosfet channel heats up and it's resistivity goes up. This way they sort of "self regulate". BJT's do just the opposite, when they heat up their gain increases making the problem worse and like I said, they will eventually destroy themselves. the only way to prevent that with bjt's is to monitor the current in both legs and have a skip cycle circuit which stops the switching in that leg when current is exceeded.
