I wanted to know if i connected the red and yellow wires to get a higher voltage to run the generator better would it die out on me or would it allow me to get a 17v+ output?

I believe the highest voltage is 12v. The 5v comes from a resistor that limits the 12v to 5v. If you put the 12v and 5v wire together, I think you will still only get 12v , but slightly higher milliamp of current increase. It would be like if you have 110v in your outlet plug in one wall and 110v in another outlet, you can't join the two together to get 220v when they are on the same circuit. Also, on the hydrogen generator, excessive voltage does not increase the dissociation of water. It just converts the extra voltage into heat energy. To increase hydrogen production you have to have the right dissociation voltage and the right current per square surface area of anodes and cathodes. So put out bigger rods to generate more hydrogen and oxygen. The trouble is, is there is no amperage in a power supply to really make any quantity of hydrogen. It would be far better to use a big auto battery charger with at least 10- 50 amps of current Use a volt meter across your red and yellow and black wires to see what is the highest voltage combination you can find.
