Michael C asked Do I need to connect the ground wire on a timer switch?
I recently purchased a programmable timer switch (Aube TI070) to replace a normal light switch. I connected the load and line and everything works great. However, I did not connect the ground wire as the switch box does not have a ground screw - the old switch was not grounded either. It is an old house so I doubt everything else is grounded. Is it OK to not have this wire from the new switch grounded? I'm leaning towards yes but need some expert opinion to be sure. Thanks
And got the following answer:
Ground wire in this case is not required however if You wish and feel comfortable ground wire can be attached on metal screw on the timer it self, cheers
