I have a whirlpool dryer that spins and operates properly, but it doesn't put out any heat. We replaced the heating element and still have the same problem. Someone suggested we replace the thermal fuse and the cut off switch. The cut off switch came with two parts and we are not sure where the other part goes. I know the one part goes on the heating element housing. Any help would be appreciated!!

whirlpool makes a kit of 2 thermostats because once one blows the other one blows. every dryer usually has 2-3 thermostats and usually a thermal fuse. ive never replaced one myself, but i do work in the service and parts department so i do recommend you be sure all the lint is cleaned out inside your dryer and all the way to the OUTSIDE of the house. Otherwise you will continue to blow thermostats, fuses, and your heating element. wish i could be more help. (if you have a model # i can get a breakdown of where the other one goes, it should be near your heat element though)
