Ms.Right asked Bypassing the Washing Machine Safety Lid Switch?
My switch broke, and I have found several posts here on how to bypass the Safety Switch temporarily, while you wait for your new one to arrive, but, what if you want to do that permanently? I don't have any small children in the house, and would like the washer to keep on going while I open the lid to add things. Having to stick my finger in that small hole is a pain, so why not. What is the best way to do that as a permanent solution, in a safe way? Thank you!
And got the following answer:
Dont know what you've been told..but... mine had the same prob. Under the top where switch is . There should be two wires. Pull them off the switch and join them together with a wire nut. Put water proof electical tape and your good. Mine has been that way for two years ! ****+ make sure you pull the plug first. And tuck the wires up out of the way when you finnish!
