Ok, so i know that supplying cities with high voltages means there is a smaller current, hence less energy loss, so it is more cost efficient. Because the losses are proportional to the square of the current, and power = voltage x current, you are still transmitting the same power at (for example:) 100,000 volts at 1 amp, and at 1000 volts at 100 amps. There is less resistive heating due to the lower current, therefore there are less losses.
