The wiring is as souch, Two circuits with 5 lights each. So I have two wires 5 lights on each. they go to a breaker each then from breaker to a small square d box, that i dont know what it is (but i m guessing is a transformer), then they go to a timer (intermatic et100c, spst, 120v clock supply, 30amp), then back to the square d box, then each wire goes to 5 lights each. The problem is the timer, I've ordered one, but for the time being can i overide the square d box and timer, and just wire the lights directly onto the respective breakers? or will this burn the ballasts? Yoda get back to your crack! square d box is a contactor. I tried the manual overide while I was troubleshooting it, but none of the switches work on the timer, also the reset button doesnt work, nothing actually works on the timer.
And got the following answer:
The timer should have a manual override switch.
