I am going to buy a new Graphics Card (ATI Radeon HD 5770 1gb), but my current Power Supply is not sufficient enough to power it. I therefore need to buy a new one, but how can I tell that it will fit in my case? Are they all a Universal Size or something? Thanks in advance.
And got the following answer:
There are several universal sizes. It all depends on your case. You need to know if it is a MicroATX case or an ATX case. ATX is a bit bigger. If the case is MicroATX, only MicroATX Power Supply Units (PSUs) will fit in it. An ATX PSU will be too big. If the case is ATX, check the opening for the PSU. Are there mounting points that are a little smaller, so that a smaller PSU could fit? If so, you can use a MicroATX PSU with the ATX case. If there's only one set of mounting points for the PSU in the ATX case, only ATX PSUs will fit. I hope this helps... Lucien Briscoe
