I am building an electrical circuit that requires a 12 volt power supply that i can get from a wall plug does anyone have any ideas. You need a 12 volt power supply that plugs into the wall (input 120 vac), and terminates into 2 bare wires (output 12 volts)? Just go down to Radio Shack and buy any 12 volt power adapter that terminates into two wires that can provide the proper current required for your circuit. I am sure you know whether you need AC or DC: just check your supply to make sure. If the adapter has some kind of plug on the end of it that has two wires leading to it, just cut the plug off, and voilà, you will have your adapter that ends in two wires. Look in the source section for an example of a 12 vdc power adapter that has the polarity indicated, that will provide up to 1.2 amperes of regulated 12 volt current, or about 14 watts of power, and which has a plug on it that you can cut off. Good luck! If the power supply you need is a 12 vac, just plug it in and go. If it is a DC circuit, a "12 volt power supply" will typically read something like this: INPUT: 120 vac OUTPUT: 12.5 vdc, or 13.8 vdc, or 14.4 vdc at x-amperes.
