Leds light on 1.5 volts but you need to limit the current. For a single led you could use a 9 volt source and a 1000 ohm (1K ohm or Brown, Black, Red color coded) resistor. For 11 leds and no work in design and no loss of leds you could use one each 1K ohm resistor in series with each led. Then parallel the led/resistor combinations (if using a ac mains to 9 volt dc wall transformer observe correct polarity on the leds) and connect that in series with the switch and the 9 volt power supply. The advantage to this is that you have one led and one resistor for each light source so if a resistor or led goes bad you still have 10 more that are lit. If you use a 9 volt ac transformer (does not convert to dc) then polarity does not matter.
